doesn’t it seem that a majority of music from the early 90s on focuses on these themes, whereas they are not as prominent before???

is society just getting worse, or are artists just being more open and transparent about the ugliness that always exists?

  4. Donna Says:

Oh wait, country = cheating, drinking and your dog!

  5. Donna Says:

    I thought dysfunctional = country….am I wrong?

  6. Brian Says:

    yeah, donna,
I am just not as familiar with country. there are prob some good ole honkey tonk songs I left out.

  7. Brian Says:

you know what happens when you play a country music LP backwards, right?

instead of satanic lyrics, ala rock music, you get your dog back, your truck back, and your girl back

  8. NB Says:

    Okay Brian, you’re funny too!
(Must take after your sister) :) :)

  9. Don Says:

OH YEAH. That whiny Kelly Clarkson’s:
    BECAUSE OF YOU.

I have no, let me repeat NO idea who these people are, maybe we just have to many dysfunctional listerners.
What ever happened to Bing Crosby ? White Christmas ya know. I believe the music people choose to listen to tells a lot about them. dysfunctional listeners, choose disfunctional music.

  11. Trey Morgan Says:

Brian … don’t forget when you play country songs backwards you also sober up.

Is it just me, but I like Kelly Clarkson, Nirvana and all the others mentioned too. But not country.

Maybe I should listen to the words more often.

  12. NB Says:

    Luka – Suzanne Vega
Cat’s in the Cradle – Harry Chapin
All My Exes Live In Texas – Don’t have a clue who sang this – not a country fan, but have heard the song.
