A Family in Need

I work with Ken and Deb one week out of the year at a Christian Camp in PA. They are a great family and I appreciate them. I don’t know their family, who are in need, but as you can see they need help. Just wanted to spread the word.

I am auctioning off a Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible (4 vols) on my other blog to donate to the family. Go HERE if you are interested.

Dear Friends and Family-

I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones happy and healthy this holiday season. As Thanksgiving approaches, I am again reminded to count my blessings and my heart is drawn to remember those who are less fortunate. As many of you know, my sister in law, Julie Fritzsche, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last December over Christmas. It has been year of struggle but we are so thankful for the progress she has made with her health. The most difficult thing I have witnessed this year is watching my brother and his family go so deep into debt to pay for Julie’s healthcare that they are on the brink of even losing their home. Lack of insurance and huge medical bills, coupled with the needs they have in raising their handicapped son, have drained their finances to the point that they are close to losing everything. Fortunately, their faith is intact and they are confident God will take care of them.

As the holiday season often finds people wanting to share with others who are in need, the Antrim Church of Christ has set up a special health fund account to help pay for medical bills that have accrued for Dan and Julie. If, like Ken and I, you are tired of the consumer mentality and useless buying the holiday season has perpetuated, and you would like to give a portion of your holiday giving to a family in desperate need, please consider a donation to the church medical fund. Your donation is also tax deductible. The information necessary is listed below.

Please mark all donation checks with a sticky note for “Julie’s Health Fund” and send to:

Thank You and God Bless,

Debbie and Ken Bailey

Okay, I’ve got a deal for anyone who’s interested… let’s actually do something here and have some accountability. What if we all kicked in even a little. It would add up. If 12 people stopped by today and committed $25 that’d be $300 (That’s pretty good math isn’t it?). Some may can do more, some may can do less.

I’ll start with $25. Anyone else in?

  2. Brian Says:
