I’ve never considered being ambitious alone a sin. In Brazil the denotation of the word for ambition is essentially the same as the equivelent word in English, but the connotation is entirely negative. I never heard it used in a postive way in Brazil. In my opinion, it’s okay, but should not be one’s defining trait.
